Video Marketing – What Not To Do

There is a lot of material out there for video marketing. Here are some pitfalls for promoting your business. Somewhat strangely, it is just as important to know what not do as what to do.

  • DON’T give boring content. Video marketing is to make the online business stand out of the crowd. Do not bore your audience with repeated information, unattractive voice over, and pointless PowerPoint text. Be creative and bold is the key to succeed in video marketing.
  • DON’T do hourly long recording; instead make your message short and clear. Treat your videos as a short commercial with sound, text, picture and video editing is the key to success. Most of the consumers would go online to search how the product works before they decide to buy it online or offline. The short video of the product review or explanation for the function would attract viewers.
  • DON’T finish the video with no indication of your business website address. The best thing to do is to have your URL recorded on the video from beginning to the end, and repeat with voice over to draw the attention. However only leave the URL in the video is not enough, you need to place HTML link in the description. Tag the right keywords to target the potential customers.
  • DON’T behave like an obsessed salesman or saleswoman; give unbelievable offers which eventually leads to hard sale. The information needs to be helpful, problems solving, or just humourous and give a good laugh. That will draw the audience to click on your website link to find out more. This way you can win their trust and start the first step to build the relationship.
  • DON’T upload any video without keyword research. A group of targeted keywords will direct the video to the people who search for the exactly information. Therefore the conversion rate from viewers to customers would be higher. Use the keywords in the video titles, descriptions and tags precisely.
